Faux bois can be used to enhance any room.  Whether using simple wood patterns or intricate "marquetry inlay" it can be applied to almost any surface:  floors, walls, crown molding,  furniture, etc.  It can even be used to reface old doors to avoid the mess and fuss of stripping.   Like wood, it adds richness and warmth to a room but at a fraction of the cost - and with faux bois you can have any exotic wood you desire.   Finally,  you can paint over it if you get tired of it!
