This statue is dedicated in loving memory of my Grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Rev. J.E. McClellan. Their love of roses and peace inspired my design. There is a message to them hidden on the statue. Roses, symbolic of world peace, decorate the statue: Peace Roses adorn the back, Golden Wing Roses climb the front and American Roses frame the Whitehouse. A subtle patriotic design, views of the Whitehouse appear on both sides of the Elephant. Since President Bush put roses back in the Whitehouse Rose Garden it only seems more appropriate that it appear in the design. Note: the initial title and concept was "the Yellow Rose of Texas in the Whitehouse" - but we decided to go with a more non-partisan name!
