Project Information

The Party Animals Public Art Project  is the largest public art project in the history of Washington, DC.  The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities chose local and national artists to create designs for donkeys and elephants. These polyurethane icons will stand 4.5 feet tall by 5 feet long. The Party Animals theme icons will be installed at various sites throughout the Washington, DC area from May 1 and will continue to be on display until the fall of 2002. The exhibition will culminate with a Raucous Caucus Auction and all proceeds will be channeled back to the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities' grant programs. The Party Animals campaign is committed to making public art accessible; increasing tourism; and giving all participants—artists, sponsors and viewers—an opportunity to have FUN!
