About Glennis McClellan
Biography
|
Glennis McClellan's versatile design skills are rooted in traditional art and formal training. She began painting murals for local restaurants and businesses while an art student at the University of Georgia. After receiving her BFA, she settled in New York City to work as an artist. She attended the Art Students League, first studying and then teaching figurative drawing and painting. Today she is an accomplished artist and mural painter whose portfolio demonstrates a broad range of styles and media. |

on high-end interior mural painting and design. Specializing in traditional
figurative murals. Glennis' current projects include scenic painting
and public art commissions. Public Commissions include "Dinomite Days"
for the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh, "Party Animals" for the
D.C. Commission of the Arts and the "Big Apple Fest" in New York

1991-1997

In 1993 Glennis started her first mural studio in New York City, Glennis McClellan Design Studio. She also taught traditional figurative drawing and painting at the Art Students League under Barbara Adrian (1992 to1998). Glennis was featured in the 1998 Juried Exhibition, "Artists Choose Artist", at The Century Association in New York City. |

1986-1990

Glennis received a BFA from the University of Georgia, 1990. Concentration: Painting. Course work included life drawing, oil painting techniques, anatomy, illustration, art history, materials and techniques, color theory, 3-D design and construction. She won several awards and design competitions including the prestigious Lyndon House Juried Exhibition Show two years in a row. Glennis also wrote and received a $50,000 grant from the state of Georgia to start an after-school art program for underprivileged children. |
